Meet The Directors

Dr. Borgatta, the founder of Starbright, is a specialist in early childhood and primary education. She holds a Master's of Arts in Adult and Community Education and a Doctorate of Education in Early Childhood Administration.

Dr. Borgatta was an instructor at the University of Alaska for over 10 years and recently taught at Everett Community College and Washington State University Co-operative Extension. She also worked as a trainer for the National Administrator Credential with the National Child Care Association.

She is an experienced certified preschool, elementary, and high school teacher in both the states of Alaska and Washington. Dr. Borgatta left the state of Alaska after 20 years where she owned and operated another high quality, NAEYC-accredited early childhood program.

Jen Alaniz

Jen comes to Starbright with a wide range of early childhood experience. She has worked for 20 years in the field of early childhood as a toddler teacher, preschool teacher, program supervisor, early childhood trainer, center director, and as a multi-site center manager.

Jen has a degree in early childhood education from Highline Community College. She is currently attending Washington State University to complete her bachelor's degree in Human Development and Business Management. She oversees the day-to-day administration of Starbright and handles any questions regarding tuition and fees. Her hours are from 8:00 to 4:30 Monday-Friday.
